About Us

Choice TV launched on Saturday 28th April 2012 on the Freeview digital platform, and on Freeview satellite on 5th July.  On September 1st 2012, the network launched on SKY Channel 78 (Now on Sky Channel 024 as of September 1st 2015), as part of SKY's basic package. It is New Zealand's first broad appeal free-to-air TV channel launched in more than a decade and offers viewers an exciting and interesting range of programmes twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.

Choice TV’s programming centres on entertainment, information and lifestyle and aims to source unique and previously unseen content, both local and international, that taps into the tastes and interests of Kiwi viewers with themes such as property, homes, travel, gardening, food, design, the great outdoors, natural history, comedy and drama. 

On 28th October 2014, Blue Ant Media acquired a majority stake in Choice TV. Blue Ant Media, one of Canada’s largest independent media companies, produces and distributes content globally for targeted categories including lifestyle, nature, music and travel. The company engages fans across television, digital, magazines and live events. Blue Ant owns and operates 10 consumer media brands, including Cottage LifeTravel+EscapeOasis and Smithsonian Channel Canada


Our management team:


julia-baylisJulia Baylis is Co-Founder, and General Manager at Choice TV. Prior to this, Julia spent five years as Head of Programming and Acquisitions at Living Channel and Food TV and eight years





Peter Winter is Manager Finance at Choice TV, a role that covers finance, payroll and administration. Previously Peter has led the NZ finance teams for Qantas and Glaxo Wellcome.  




Holly Pollock is General Manager of Production Funding and Marketing at Choice TV and has been part of the management team for the last two years. Holly has spent the last fourteen years in commercial radio starting in the UK and then moving to NZ working at Classic Hits both in promotions and programming; predominantly as the National Promotions Manager. Most recently she has been the National Marketing Manager for More FM and The Breeze.


fionaFiona Murray is Programme Manager at Choice TV. Fiona previously worked in the UK for BBC Worldwide as a Programming Executive for two years buying for the Asian, Indian & Italian territories across all genres as well as specialising on channel launches for the Acquisition department.



morganMorgan Colmore-Williams is the Manager of Broadcast Operations at Choice TV. Prior to Choice TV, Morgan spent twelve years at Television New Zealand having worked for TV2 Presentation, Operations and ONE News. 




scott butler image 1Scott Butler is Head of National Sales & Integration at Choice TV. He has worked in advertising for over 17 years working across both agencies and sales teams in New Zealand, Australia and Canada. Prior to Choice TV Scott spent 5 years working in Sydney as NSW Sales Director for Val Morgan Cinema Network and most recently as a Group Business Director for Stardom Mediavest Sydney.
